A pet memorial portrait cannot replace the companion who is gone. It can, however, keep a familiar face present in the room: the eyes you knew, an uneven patch of color, a soft grey muzzle, or the expression that still feels like home.

Created from a photograph that matters

The best memorial photograph is not always a formal portrait. It may be an older phone photo, a snapshot from a favorite place, or the image where the expression feels exactly right. We remove the original background and redraw the pet as a watercolor-style illustration in our signature square peekaboo composition.

We preserve coat markings, eye color, ear shape, facial proportions, and natural asymmetry. We do not add wings, halos, text, collars, accessories, or invented markings unless a separate product specifically offers them. The result is intended to feel quiet, personal, and recognizable.

Made with care, then sent to print

We create the portrait from the treasured photo and any notes you share, then check the important markings, colors, and expression before printing. There is no separate customer proof step. We work to get each finished portrait on its way as quickly as possible; most orders ship within 3–5 days of purchase. We reach out if a better reference is needed.

Giving a portrait as a sympathy gift

If the portrait is a gift, choose a photograph the recipient already loves whenever possible. Avoid guessing about markings from a low-resolution social media image. A family member may be able to provide the original file discreetly. Choose the canvas or framed poster size that feels right for their home.

What if the only photograph is imperfect?

Send the largest version available. We review photo suitability before moving a poor reference forward. If the image is too dark, blurry, or obstructed to support an accurate portrait, the order is paused and a better photograph is requested. Our photo guide explains what helps.
